Shindana Cooper is a skilled storyteller & poet. Stimulating awareness in the African and African-American
communities, Shindana perpetuates the centuries old tradition of oral history. She takes her audience from an
African Village, through the Middle Passage, from the plantation, to a safe house on the underground railroad. Shindana
stirs many emotions with characterizations of Sojourner Truth, Mary McLeod and the frightened slave
women "Who Walked With Harriet." Shindana performs at major festivals, schools, colleges & universities, as well
community and corporate functions. She has been the featured artist at Baltimore’s Afram Expo, Baltimore’s Artscape
Celebration and The National Catholic’s Conference for Interracial Justice. When she is not performing on
stage, Shindana conducts workshops for children and adults on storytelling and the celebration of Kwanzaa. Shindana
recently produced her own radio program, "Keepers of the Culture," for WCCN in Baltimore and hosted her own television
special, "Stories From ‘Round The World."

"Shindana was huge success! The audience marveled and watched wide-eyed as Shindana moved across the stage telling
stories. She brought laughter, smile and even tears to the faces of many in the audience. She more than told stories, she
engaged the audience to the point they became participants."
